Magnesium Series: Our Water

In Israel, where they still drink ground water that has not been desalinated, they have significantly less heart problems. In a study done in April 2017, they tested magnesium levels in the country’s water sources and they discovered that the lower the magnesium in the water the higher the incidence of A-Fib, heart attacks and chronic heart problems in the citizens using these water sources.

When people moved from one location where the water source was deficient in magnesium to a region with magnesium rich water, sufferers of heart conditions began to show substantial improvement and a decrease in hospital and doctor visits. Many found they needed to lower medication levels that they had kept for years.

This Water/Magnesium test was repeated in Denmark from 2006 to 2016 and in 2022 their finalized results replicated the Israel results. This test involved 4 million people and was nation-wide and covered a 10-year period. Again, when the water was desalinated, it grossly impacted the users and there was a substantially high level of heart problems in these areas that were not present in other parts of the country. Another 2021 study results suggests that if magnesium was added back into our water, heart attacks would drop by over 5% overall and magnesium is cheap and completely safe to make this a viable undertaking.

In addition to the heart, Magnesium levels are found to also impact your ability to fight off infection. In a 2023 study, magnesium levels significantly correlated with Covid infections and the severity of the infection. This study showed that people with low levels of magnesium had longer Covid sickness, higher death rates and more complications overall. This makes sense when you consider that magnesium is a “necessary” chemical for over 300 enzyme functions alone in the body. Next to potassium, it is the most important chemical in your body.

Magnesium also lessens chronic pain. Magnesium is known to assist and regulate in the transfer of signals between synapses. Many forms of chronic pain result from a disruption or over expression of these signals, which can lead to pain that can not be managed. Magnesium is proving to improve, regulate and diminish excess signally, lessening the severity and duration of pain. For amputees, magnesium spray has been a godsend. I have witnessed it myself, multiple times.

Magnesium is vital to the body and without it, serious complications arise. It is important that we take magnesium, preferably a topical application, because it is no longer present in our water and we are not getting enough in our food, because plants now drink the same water as we do.
