How I Got My Hair to Regrow

Hi Friends,

Like most of you, after 55 I started to experience thinning hair. At first it just thinned around my face, but over time I noticed thinning around my crown. This produced the dreaded “bed head.” In addition, my hair looked limp and wispy, which aged me. I also noticed that my eyebrows were also “disappearing”, especially at the outer edges.

 

 

Iodine:

Since I don’t eat seafood 3x/week, I decided to take iodine for my eyebrows, because my research taught me that insufficient iodine will lead to the loss of your eyebrows (beginning at the outer edge). 11 months ago, I began 6/1g capsules daily of Canadian kelp (a standard daily, full-dose of iodine). I had a lot on hand at the shop, but any good iodine supplement would have worked. Within 3 months my eyebrows had begun to grow back and now they have filled in and continue to go back to what they had been in my 40’s. My eyelashes improved as well. I do not wear mascara.

Horsetail tea:

My eyebrows were coming back, but I wanted to thicken-up my hair, so I decided to start drinking the “traditional remedy” for baldness, horsetail. I have it in a tea, here at the shop. This is a great plant for giving you all the silica (found in green veggies) you need to grow hair. It produces and strengthens the hair shaft for density, thickness and length. I drink 1 cup a day. Within 30 days I had new growth around my hairline.

Eggs:

My hair was growing back and my eyebrows and lashes were steadily filling-in, but my hair strands remained wispy. With all health conditions it is vital to look at the diet and make sure it is supplying “in desired amounts” the nutrients necessary. I wanted to put more collagen in my diet, but didn’t want to take a manufactured collagen. Eggs are very high in collagen and high in all the other nutrients necessary for hair growth, so I decided to give it a try.

 

Bingo! What an easy and powerful addition to hair remedies. I began eating 2 eggs a day. Eggs are loaded with collagen, protein and all my vitamins and minerals (I do not take supplements). It made a huge difference within weeks. I have eggs everyday for lunch now and they not only provide me with all the raw materials I need for the horsetail and iodine to do their stuff, an egg lunch kept me full and energized.
